Bristol Brewing Company is no stranger to awards. This local long-established favorite continues to receive top accolades — despite growing brewery competition — because of its commitment to the community and its identity.
“We just try to be ourselves,” said Steve Oliveri, marketing coordinator at Bristol. “What that means is that we really focus on why we do what we do and remember why this all started in the first place. With that, there’s always a focus to create kinship and community, and make sure both our products and service are enriching the lives of our fans and customers.”
Bristol Brewing regularly hosts “Karma Hour” events with a percentage of beer sales going to a nonprofit or community group. Located in the converted Ivywild School, built in 1916 and converted to a hub for community event, noshing and imbibing, Bristol Pub is co-located with its brewing operations. Its large patio is popular in the summer, and the large open pub space is favored year-round.
“I think that if we can infuse in everybody in the building — and everybody in the community quite frankly — just to think about the things they do on an everyday basis and how they relate to not only other people but the environment, we are all going to be better off,” said owner and founder Mike Bristol on the company’s website.
