Olson Plumbing & Heating opened in 1917 as a one-man operation. This year, the local company will celebrate 100 years in business in the Pikes Peak region. The company is still family-owned and operated, according to its website.

“I think that the biggest thing in business is that making money can’t be the most important goal,” said Michael Trapp, president and owner of Olson Plumbing & Heating. “If you have satisfied customers and do the right thing for people, making a profit will follow. A lot of people put making money as their No. 1 goal and they make people mad by not giving an inch on a bill or whatever. You have to make satisfied customers your priority.”

Trapp said repeat business and customer relationships are very important to his company, which is why customer satisfaction is a big focus for Olson Plumbing and Heating.

“Every business, no matter how big, has problems. It’s how you deal with problems when you have them that makes the difference,” he said. “We go the extra mile to make everybody satisfied.”
