Penrose-St. Francis Health Services was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis and the Sisters of Charity, according to its website. The hospital has been ranked as one of America’s 50 best hospitals from 2008-17.
“We have a really long history and because of that we’ve grown with Colorado Springs and the communities surrounding Colorado Springs,” said Andrea Sinclair, public information officer for Penrose-St. Francis Health Services. “We are very familiar with the patients and people we serve, acutely aware of the needs in terms of health care.”
The hospital, a member of Centura Health, sees about 104,827 annual emergency visits and around 23,102 annual admissions, according to its fact sheet for the end of the fiscal year June 30, 2016.
“We’re not just focused on taking care of people when they are sick, but when they are healthy as well, and we focus on promoting a culture of health and wellness throughout our community. I think that makes Penrose-St. Francis an excellent health care provider,” Sinclair said.
