Eric St. Pierre and Jeff Walker moved to Colorado Springs in 1993 with the dream of starting a business, and today they have 70 employees and 25 moving trucks to serve the Springs and Pueblo. Two Men and a Truck is a local success story, helping its customers complete more than 6,000 moves per year, and winning this category four years in a row.
“That’s a great honor,” said St. Pierre. “The Business Journal is a highly respected newspaper in Colorado Springs. To win this award again makes us very proud.”
St. Pierre worked for the original owner of Two Men and a Truck in Michigan before franchising opportunities became available. All the company’s movers must complete an in-house training program before working in the field.
“Colorado Springs has been very good to us,” St. Pierre said. “It all starts with hiring good people, and we try to reward them. We feel like we really brought customer service into the moving business. We try to live by what we call ‘the grandma rule’ — where we try to treat everyone like they’re our grandma. It’s a corporate philosophy but we live it and breathe it.”
