It’s a theater, a museum and an art school all rolled into one — and the Fine Arts Center offers even more with concerts, stand-up comedy and special performances — while striving to inspire community vitality through arts and education.
“Our mission is to elevate the community spirit through our programming,” said FAC Media Relations and Outreach Manager Amanda Weston. “We aspire to educate the community and bring arts into the community with every single thing we do.”
Built in 1936, the Fine Arts Center grew out of the Broadmoor Arts Academy that began in 1919 and furthered the goal of becoming one of the only multi-discipline arts institutions in the nation.
“I think our rich history sets us apart,” Weston said. “We’ve been a pillar in the community for almost 100 years. We’re an organization the others look up to.
“And it’s a great honor to be recognized by the Colorado Springs community as the best museum and art gallery.”
