As executive director of the Southern Colorado Small Business Development Center, Caroline Trani, winner of Best Pueblo Boss, takes responsibility for the day-to-day implementation of key small business development programs and services in an area that includes Pueblo, Fremont, Custer, Huerfano and Las Animas counties. Her team’s goal is helping existing and new businesses grow and prosper through consulting and training programs, which are available free or at low cost.

Many of her job’s (and the organization’s) duties can be the difference between a business’ success or failure.

“To be nominated as ‘the best boss’ is a reflection of the best team that I have the opportunity to work with,” said Trani. “Quality customer service internally as well as externally is something we value as a key factor in the success we have as a business.”

With a vision of being the No. 1 source for consulting, training and resources for Southern Colorado businesses, taking home a best boss win means she must be doing something right.

“I always strive to lead by example, not only as a boss but as an employee and person overall,” she said. “I’m honored!”
