For more than 100 years, Stoehr Cleaners has been keeping Pueblo residents looking fresh and clean. Kalijah Chavez, who owns three Stoehr locations in Southern Colorado, said she is honored to be recognized by Business Journal readers.
“It’s awesome! We definitely get compliments on our customer service. We love our customers and know them,” she said.
Chavez said one reason her business is so well known in the the area is that she keeps her business deeply involved in the community. That means providing dry cleaning services to organizations like the Pueblo Zoo and the Pueblo Police Department at a discount or for no charge at all.
Only three owners have taken the helm at Stoehr, and Chavez purchased the business within the past year. But she wasn’t new to the operation, having worked there since she was 17.
Chavez said the same-day service and free business and residential delivery and pick-up are extras that set her business apart.
“If it’s in by 10 [a.m.] it will be out by 4 [p.m.],” she said.
